My accessory necessity of the week: spiked jewelry. Nothing adds a little drama and edge to an outfit like spiked jewelry. Coming off the coattails of the military trend, spiked jewelry has risen to the forefront in every metallic shade possible. Use these statement pieces to punch up a delicate dress or feminine camisole, whether it’s with a necklace or chunky cuff. Floral Hair Garlands

Accessory necessity of the week: Floral hair garlands. With the temperature getting as hot as the summer concert lineups, outdoor music festival accessories are beginning to spill over into mainstream fashion. One of my favorite new looks is the floral head garland. Inspired by hippie concertgoers of days past, this is a perfect example of how Woodstock syndrome has taken over the fashion world by storm.  One of the great things about this look is you can decide how extreme you want to take it by either sporting a delicate wreath peaking through braids, or a full on wild-flower bouquet springing from your hair.  Just make sure to keep it feminine and fun, without bordering into clown-like. T-Shirt Necklaces

Accessory necessity of the week: T-shirt Necklaces. There are quite a few things that I love about these T-shirt necklaces (otherwise known as T-shirt scarves) that I have seen popping up everywhere from small boutiques to large fashion companies. First off, I love any item that can double as two accessories (a scarf and a necklace? Yes please!) Secondly, with Summer close by, it is a smart idea to start adding pieces to your wardrobe that can make the easy transition from cold to warm weather. Lastly, and probably most importantly, this is an incredibly easy DIY piece! Save some money, recycle an old T-shirt, and plan a craft day with your girlfriends to make one!  I personally plan on utilizing the next rainy day to do some spring cleaning, and make one for myself. Accessory necessity of the week: men’s watches. Incorporating classic menswear pieces into your wardrobe is almost always a fashion “do”, and men’s watches are no exception. Forgo dainty feminine styles, and instead opt for a chunky men’s watch in gold or tortoiseshell. To add a girlie, eclectic touch, layer with a multitude of fun bangles and woven bracelets. Envelope Clutches

My accessory necessity of the week: envelope clutches. The clutch has always been a favorite accessory of mine, it is completely polished while still one of a kind. Due to its larger size, the newly popular envelope clutch only enhances these attributes, as this variation on the standard evening clutch has the ability to transition into a daytime carryall as well. Now you are able to have your phone/camera/makeup etc. conveniently at your side, while still looking completely fashion forward. Many designs also offer an optional chain (just in case you are worried about accidentally misplacing it). I recently purchased a coral envelope clutch for myself (which I cannot wait to break in!), however you can’t go wrong with a mint or sea foam color either. In my mind a bright color is always the way to go, whether you are bringing your clutch out to brunch or out for the evening. Celebrity fans: Lauren Conrad, Olivia Palermo.
